Burnham Brown Partner, Gregory Brown Chairs The Oakland Police Foundation: Neighborhood Champion Awards Ceremony

Email Page Print Page

March 8, 2014

Oakland Police Foundation to recognize citizens, district attorneys, and police officers making a difference in East Oakland. Violent crime is down in East Oakland neighborhoods thanks to community members working in partnership with OPD and other agencies to remove the worst offenders and keep them off the streets. It is the first time in 10 years there has been a relevant drop (28%) in violent crime in East Oakland and that deserves celebration. Citizens, outreach workers, district attorneys and police officers are being honored for exemplifying community policing partnerships that work.

The Neighborhood Champions awards ceremony, co-hosted by The Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Make Oakland Better Now!, will take place Saturday, March 8, at Acts Full Gospel Church, 1034 66th Ave, Oakland, CA 94621 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Award recipients include Oakland police officers, outreach and human services workers, district attorneys, and the faith-based community. We anticipate over 1,000 attendees.
